  • Instagram this week marked Kate Middleton’s Mother’s Day photo as “altered”.

  • The photo is now hidden from view by default.

  • The Princess of Wales said in a statement that the image had been Photoshopped.

Our take:

I don’t care if an influencer uses Facetune or filters: I just assume they do. This warning is only needed if the photo is newsworthy or misleading.

That said, I think all AI-generated images should be labeled!
